His tenure and those files weren’t enough to win a bruising primary outright last month, though, and the veteran legislator now finds himself in a runoff against Tea Party organizer Charles Perry, who’s capitalizing on voter anger at incumbents.

HD-83: Jones and Perry Will Go to Runoff
With all precincts reporting, Rep. Delwin Jones, R-Lubbock, has 39 percent of the vote — a plurality, but not enough to win the District 83 GOP primary. He’ll face Charles Perry in next month’s runoff.
