Varied backgrounds and points of view among staff members help the Tribune to better connect with the diverse residents of Texas.
Andy Alford
As the director of recruitment, training and career development, Andy is the primary architect of the Tribune’s talent pipeline. She oversees talent acquisition and manages the organization’s robust fellowship program, mentoring the next generation of journalists and professionals across every editorial and business department. Andy brings decades of leadership experience to the Tribune, serving as president of the board of directors of the Texas Managing Editors association and having previously served as the managing editor of the Austin American-Statesman. Andy is a Dallas native and a journalism graduate of the University of Houston. Despite years of upheaval in the media industry, her focus has remained constant: fostering high-potential media professionals and editorial excellence.
